When You Feel Weary in the Calling God Gave You

Have you ever felt like the thing God called you to do isn’t working out the way you hoped? Like you’re showing up, staying faithful, doing the hard and holy work, yet still feel unseen or uncertain?

This week on The Trailblazer Talks, I shared some honest reflections from my own journey. No guest. Just me and the mic and a prayer that these words would reach you right where you are.

Because here’s the truth: sometimes you can be right in the middle of what God has called you to do and still feel tired, discouraged, or unsure how it’s all going to work out.

Obedience Doesn’t Always Feel Like Success

Since stepping into full-time entrepreneurship and ministry, I’ve experienced beautiful moments of fruit and fulfillment. But I’ve also walked through long waiting seasons, unexpected dips, and days where I had to remind myself why I said yes to this in the first place.

My dream to traditionally publish a book is still unfolding. There are moments when it feels so far away. But God keeps bringing me back to the truth that obedience is success. Not the outcome. Not the platform. Just the yes.

Faithfulness Isn’t Always Fast

In our instant-result world, it’s easy to assume that slow progress means something is wrong. But when I look at Scripture, I’m reminded that many of God’s people waited years, sometimes decades, before they saw the fruit of their obedience.

Moses doubted himself. Jeremiah was heartbroken. Paul was shipwrecked and imprisoned. Yet all of them stayed the course, not because they had perfect circumstances but because they trusted the One who called them.

Resetting When You Feel Weary

If you’re feeling weary in your calling, here are a few ways to pause and reset:

  1. Revisit your why.
Go back to the moment you first said yes. What did God speak to you? Why did you begin?

  2. Write down the lies and then the truth.
List what you’ve been believing that’s heavy or discouraging. Then ask, “What does God say about this?”

  3. Get quiet.
Whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood or ten minutes alone with the Lord, silence helps you hear again.

  4. Rest without guilt.
Real rest is spiritual. It’s not weakness—it’s trust. It says, “God, I believe You’re still working even while I pause.”

  5. Lean into community.
Don’t carry the burden alone. Let others hold up your arms when you feel like letting go.

Encouragement from Scripture

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Galatians 6:9

God sees your faithfulness. Even when it feels quiet or hidden. Even when there’s no applause or outcome yet. He hasn’t led you here just to leave you here.
